+ What inspired you to start bike riding/racing?

My father was a high level cyclist and introduced my brother and I to cycling when we 12 and we fell in love with it.

+ What inspires you every day to get on your bike?

The love of the sport, being with friends and riding bikes is what I enjoy the most.

+ What does inspire to achieve mean to you know?

If you can be a role model for the younger generation and you are able to have a positive influence on even just one person, that to me is to “inspire to achieve”.

+ How do you use data for your training and racing?

Data is a big part of cycling nowadays. I use data to help track my form throughout the year and to also build it towards a specific race for peak performance.

+ What does technology bring into bike racing?

Technology is come a long way the last decade and has become a big part of cycling in the 21st century. Everything from bikes, apparel and helmets to nutrition, psychology and bike position has changed dramatically which makes the racing a lot more dynamic.

+ Did you like math and science in school?

I preferred math over science in school, I was a lot better with numbers than remembering the periodic table and the solar system.

+ If you have a college degree, (or currently in the process) what is it in?

I have a Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery.

+ What is your super power?

To always look on the brighter side of life.

+ If you weren’t bike racing, what would you be doing?

Since getting my qualifications in carpentry, I’ve been really interested in property. So if I wasn’t racing, I probably be either a property developer or a site manager.

+ What are your favorite pastimes and hobbies outside of bikes?

Hanging out with friends, spending quality time with my fiancé, playing video games, watching movies.

+ What is your most memorable day on the bike?

The day I won my first elite track national championship.

Pre-race: Risotto, Post-race: Burger and fries

+ Who is your hero?

My Dad is my hero

+ What is one piece of advice you would give to another up and coming cyclist or fan?

Enjoy the ride, if you’re not enjoying yourself riding or racing than its not worth doing.

+ Favorite songs or playlist to listen to while training or warming up?

If I’m out training, I’ll listen to dance music. And if I’m warming up, I’ll listen to more heavy metal/rock music.

+ When you think of your happy place, where is that?

Anywhere that I’m with my family or friends.

+ Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?

Always look on the bright side of life.

+ What is your vice?

Having a drink with friends

+ What is your favorite race and why?

The Scratch Race or Criterium. Because its a short, sharp and fast race which I love racing. Also they draw big crowds to watch the races which I really enjoy.
