New to the professional peloton, Cylance Pro Cycling will be looking to make its mark on the 2016 edition of Santo’s Women’s Tour Down Under
The Cylance Pro Cycling Team is set to launch its inaugural season with the Santos Women’s Tour, now in its second edition, in Adelaide Australia starting January 16th and concluding on January 19th.
“We are incredibly excited to open the 2016 in Australia. The race organization is incredibly professional and it’s very exciting to take the returning champion Valentina Scandalara back to Adelaide” said Omer Kem, founder of Inspire Sports. “It’s very important in an Olympic year to get the team racing as all of our athletes pursue selection to their countries Olympic teams.”
The Cylance Pro Cycling roster for the Santos Women’s Tour includes Valentina Scandalara (2015 Overall Race Winner), Shelley Olds, Rossella Ratto, Alison Tetrick, Krista Doebel-Hickok, and Doris Schweizer.
The 2016 edition of the Santos Women’s Tour see the race elevated to UCI 2.2 status and begins with stage 1 a 95KM circuit on January 16th in Mt. Torrens. On stage 2 the race sees the women tackle the same course used for the men’s People’s Choice Classic a total of 12 times for 20.4KM in East Adelaide. The race continues on stage 3 in Lyndoch for 100.8KM with 2 KOM points that could prove decisive. The Santos Women’s Tour finishes up on January 20th with stage 4, a one hour criterium race in Victoria Park, just east of Adelaide’s city center.
