Cylance Pro Cycling Announces Gent-Wevelgem and San Dimas Stage Race Rosters

Cylance Pro Cycling is heading back to Belgium for the iconic Spring Classics of the North, where the team will race Gent-Wevelgem on Sunday, March 26.  This is the fourth UCI Women’s World Tour race on the calendar featuring some of the iconic climbs  and cobbled roads of Flanders Field.  The riders will race up the Kemmelberg, the Monteberg and the Baneberg, all with gradients exceeding 20%.  It is always a challenging race that can select the strongest riders to compete in a sprint finish.    

With plenty of success on the roads of the cobbled classics already, Cylance Pro Cycling will bring young rider Sheyla Guiterriez (ESP), who is showing great consistency in the Spring Classics.  Guiterriez will be joined by Willeke Knol (NED) , Marta Tagliaferro (ITA), Joelle Numainville (CAN), Małgorzata Jasińska (POL), and Rossella Ratto (ITA).  This strong team has options for bunch finishes and hard selective races.

After a successful team camp and Tour de Murrieta, the men of Cylance Pro Cycling will compete at San Dimas Stage Race in San Dimas, California.  The 3 day race consists of a decisive hill climb time trial, a undulating road race, and a technical criterium.  

Showing great form at camp, Kyle Murphy (USA) will look to set the tone for the men on the first stage, where he’s had success in previous editions.  In the following stages Scott Law (AUS), who placed second on Stage 2 of Tour de Murrieta, will be a great option for the team, along with notable sprinter, Justin Williams (USA).  They will be  joined by strong teammates Orlando Garibay (MEX), Andres Dias (COL), and Hunter Grover (USA).

“We have a great roster leading into San Dimas Stage Race” says Hilton Clarke, Director Sportif.  “Kyle Murphy is coming in as one of the favorites for the time trial and sprinters Scott Law and Justin Williams are prepped and ready for the fast finishes of Stage 2 and 3.”

Cylance Pro Cycling continues to partner with industry leader, Cannondale Bicycles, to further push the limits of technology. Cylance Pro Cycling’s UCI Continental men’s team will race the 2017 season completely on the Cannondale SuperSix Evo Hi Mod Disc Framesets. The team will be the only UCI Continental team racing exclusively on disc brake bikes.

Team ends camp on high note with victory in Tour de Murrieta

Cylance Pro Cycling men’s team recently completed a successful altitude training camp at Big Bear Lake, California. Nestled in the mountains at above 6700 feet, this picturesque location offered superb opportunities for team training and product testing. From hard efforts to enjoying the snow, the team finished its final preparation for the 2017 season. 

When technology and innovation matter the most, it is important for the team to work with companies that are passionate about continuing revolutionary progress. Sponsors such as Glukos Energy, Cannondale, and Sugoi Apparel educated the team at the mountain location about products and future research and design.

The week-long camp was designed by Director Sportif, Hilton Clarke, the intent being to optimize the men’s training and test the limits of both the athletes and the equipment. “We have a great group of riders this year, all of which are talented, motivated, and with diverse experience. I am excited for the season.” says Clarke. Clarke organized drills, from team trial and sprint practice, to motorpacing sustained efforts.

During the first Sunday of camp, the team traveled to Incycle Bicycles in San Dimas to participate in an organized community ride, launching the team and camp with supporters and fans. Cylance Pro Cycling is invested in the cycling community and committed to inspiring people to stay active and join the movement.

Team camp was concluded successfully at the Tour de Murrieta where the men finished second on Stage 2 with Scott Law narrowly missing the win. Testing his race legs, Marcotte took the team’s second victory of the year at Stage 3 of Tour de Murrieta with an impressive solo win. Teammate Karl Menzies finished 2nd to win the bunch sprint.

With a successful team camp, Cylance Pro Cycling men’s team will race next at the San Dimas Stage Race. Big Bear Lake was the perfect training base for the team to launch into the 2017 season.

The strengthened 2017 Cylance Pro Cycling men’s team, through exceptional skills, tenacity, and diversity, is equipped for all terrains, courses, and conditions. “Going into 2017, I believe we have a great blend of youth and experience.” says Hilton Clarke, Director Sportif.  The vision is to assist the riders to reach their goals through the power of team, wisdom of experience, and focus on development.

“Our team is balanced with all disciplines and talent.  The roster will be successful at all Pro Road Tour calendar events” continues Clarke.  Through strong mentorship and opportunity, the team will be use teamwork to develop, grow, and attain results.  Cylance Pro Cycling is stacked with the power to not only win races, but also to inspire each other and the community.
