Small finishes top ten at UCI Women’s WorldTour Prudential RideLondon — Cylance Pro Cycling

Cylance Pro Cycling’s newest team member, U.S. national champion Carmen Small, finished 8th at this past weekend’s Prudential RideLondon. The 5.5km circuit of 12 laps through the famous Trafalgar Square boasted tremendous fan support, and the race brought the prestige of a 100,000 Euro prize purse—equal to the men’s field.

The race was fast and strong from the start line, with breaks, attacks and crashes throughout the course. As the women set up for the final sprint, a crash in the middle of the road marred the efforts of some of the teams. Luckily, Cylance Pro Cycling escaped unscathed. In the end, Kirsten Wild (Hitec) took the bunch sprint for the victory while Nina Kessler (Lensworld-Zannata) and Leah Kirchmann (Liv-Plantur) rounded out the podium.

Carmen Small, who raced her first event with Cylance Pro Cycling at last week’s Cascade Classic, showed her impeccable all-around skills for the team. Her 8th place finish solidify Small’s tenacity as a top sprinter as well as great time trialist, climber and stage racer. We’re proud to have her on board!

“I’m back racing in the WorldTour after almost three months!” said Small. “Pretty happy with a top 10 to start things off. Second part of the season will be full of fun with the Cylance Pro Cycling team! Next up will be Norway and Sweden.”
