On Friday Aug 12, six racers for Cylance Pro Cycling will take the start line of Ladies’ Tour of Norway, a 3-day stage race on the UCI calendar. Coming off a top 10 in the Prudential RideLondon one day UCI Women’s WorldTour race, the Cylance Pro Cycling team will once again field a strong roster looking for success in both stages and in the overall general classification. Carmen Small (USA), Sheyla Gutierrez (ESP), Rossella Ratto (ITA), Doris Schweizer (SUI), Alison Tetrick (USA) and Rachele Barbieri (ITA) will take on some of the world’s best cyclists.
In 2015, our own Shelley Olds placed second overall in the Ladies Tour of Norway, taking the stage win on stage 2 along the way in what was only a two-day race. For 2016 the race has been extended to three stages and was also upgraded from a 2.2 to a 2.1
For all who are familiar with Norway, the race takes place in the scenic area crossing the border between Norway and Sweden; the route alternate between slightly hilly terrain in all three stages. Stage 1 will start in Halden and finish in Fredrikstad, Stage 2 will travel from Mysen to Sarpsborg, and Stage 3 will begin in Svinesund – Sweden and finish in Halden.
