Cylance Pro Cycling Announces Rosters for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Chico Stage Race

Cylance Pro Cycling is back to the races this weekend from Northern California to Belgium.  The women’s team will begin the UCI Women’s World Tour calendar on February 27th with the Spring Classic opener, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.  The men, and a fraction of the women’s team, will race the Chico Stage Race.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is a one day 122k race and includes many of the famed roads in Flanders Field, starting and finishing in Ghent.  The roster includes the 2016 2nd overall UCI Women’s World Tour U23 rider, Sheyla Gutierrez (ESP) as well as sprinter extraordinaire, Kirsten Wild (NED) who has already secured three victories in Australia this year.  Dani King (UK), Rossella Ratto (ITA), Jasinska Małgorzata (POL), and Joelle Numainville will be adding to the strength and firepower of the team.

After a successful beginning of the season in Australia, the women’s team is excited to build on this success into the Spring Classics.  “The team had a quality training block after Australia, and we can’t wait to start racing again at the Spring Classics” says Director Sportif, Manel Lacambra.  “As always, we will do our best, and through that, will find success.” The team will then continue to race in Belgium at Le Samyn Dames and Omloop van het Hageland.

The men’s team will begin a soft launch of the 2017 season at Northern California’s version of the Spring Classics, the Chico Stage Race.  The stage race includes a fast circuit race on a speedway, followed by a grueling road race with a substantial gravel section on the second day.  The final day of racing is a flat time trial and a technical downtown criterium.  The roster includes Justin Williams (USA), who has already garnered two victories in Southern California.  He will be supported by previous teammates Hunter Grove (USA) and Orlando Garibay (MEX).  Bryan Lewis (USA) and Kyle Murphy (USA) will make their Cylance Pro Cycling debut as they will add to the depth of the roster in Chico.

Joining the men in Chico for the California race, will be a part of the women’s team with Alison Tetrick (USA), previous winner of the Chico Stage Race, joined by Krista Doebel-Hickok (USA) and Erica Zaveta (USA).   The women will be able to start the North American races and begin preparation for the season to come.

Cylance Pro Cycling is committed to high level competition and event activation.  Two of the athletes, Justin Williams and Alison Tetrick work with MetPro, a Chico based company that delivers metabolic profiling and nutritional coaching.  The races bring together valuable partnerships as the athletes are able to compete and build upon continuing success through support. The team unites to represent sponsors around the world, and inspire others to achieve their goals.  Stay tuned for great stories and results.
