Cylance Pro Cycling continues the Pro Road Tour (PRT) at the next two events at the Alabama Cycling Classic. After a successful Joe Martin Stage Race which was the beginning of the PRT, Cylance Pro Cycling will compete in two consecutive races at the Alabama Cycling Classic, which are the next two events on the PRT calendar.
The first day of the Alabama Cycling Classic is the famous Sunny King Criterium, which is a 0.7 mile (1.12 kilometer) urban criterium course with four turns. The races will follow a counter-clockwise direction for 60 laps, which will be be 62.7 kilometers total.
With a solid sprinting squad, Cylance Pro Cycling will aim for victory at the Sunny King Criterium with sprinters Justin WIlliams (USA) and Scott Law (USA). These riders will be supported by team captain, Karl Menzies (AUS) and Orlando Garibay (MEX), Andres Diaz (COL), and Hunter Grover (USA).
The second day in Alabama, and the third PRT event, will be the Anniston McClellan Road Race. Covering 90 miles/144 kilometer in 4 laps of a 22.1 mile (35.6 kilometer) circuit, there are 3 significant climbs. The most significant climb is the Bains Gap with an average of 10% for more than a kilometer and pitches up to 17%. Each lap includes nearly 571 metres of elevation gain.
For this challenging circuit, Cylance Pro Cycling will add the strength and experience of Eric Marcotte (USA) to the roster. With a strong team to support riders on the climbs and into the finish, Cylance Pro Cycling will be ready for the challenging course.
USA based Cylance Pro Cycling women’s team riders, Krista Doebel-Hickok and Erica Zaveta will also compete in the Alabama Cycling Classic.
“The team is really showing how they can work together” says Director Sportif, Hilton Clarke. “These races will be a good opportunity for the team to show their potential and ability.” Cylance Pro Cycling is ready to race in Alabama and looking forward to continuing our successful pattern.
