Over the weekend, Cylance Pro Cycling was racing around the world and making a difference. In Belgium, the women’s team raced aggressively at Ronde van Vlaanderen, also known as iconic Tour of Flanders and followed it up with a strong showing at the Grand Prix de Dottignies. Meanwhile, the men’s team conquered the extremely technical final stage of the Joe Martin Stage race with a 2nd place finish from Eric Marcotte (USA) and 5th overall for Kyle Murphy (USA).
Sheyla Gutiérrez Top 20 in UCI Women’s WorldTour Ronde van Vlaanderen
The fifth event of the Women’s WorldTour, is the iconic Ronde van Vlaanderen. Over 150 kilometers of racing riddled with cobblestones and three additional “bergs”compared to the previous year. It was beautifully challenging and through strong teamwork from Rossella Ratto (ITA) and the team, Sheyla Guitiérrez (ESP) was lead to a top 20 result.
Eric Marcotte Takes 2nd on Final Stage of Joe Martin Stage Race and Kyle Murphy 5th Overall
The Cylance Pro Cycling Men’s team raced to a strong finish of the Joe Martin Stage Race. In the final stage of the first UCI America’s Tour event in 2017, Eric Marcotte took a strong 2nd place finish. The course was a technical downtown criterium with a steep kicker to the finish line. Marcotte used his incredible bike handling skills and faith in his Cannondale SuperSix Hi Mod Evo Disc to conquer the wet conditions and finish just shy of the win.
After a great uphill time trial on his barely UCI weight limit Cannondale SuperSix Hi Mod Evo bike, Kyle Murphy finished 5th overall. The team road tactfully smart and together in order to finish with a good result to launch them into the next event, the Tour of the Gila.
Sheyla Gutiérrez 7th in UCI Grand Prix de Dottignies, Wins QOM Jersey
Not ready to call it a weekend, the Cylance Pro Cycling team lined up for today’s UCI race, Grand Prix de Dottignies in Belgium. Sheyla Gutiérrez (ESP) again proved she a rider to watch after not only taking 7th in the field sprint, but also winning the race’s coveted Queen of the Mountains jersey. Up next for the women’s team is an iconic event added to the WorldTour calendar this year, the Amstel Gold Race. Cylance Pro Cycling is incredibly proud to take part in a monumental cycling event.
The team is gaining momentum into the next part of the season, and determined to continue to inspire and achieve around the world. Follow us along @CylanceCycling and make sure to #bringthegreen!
